PAN-AMERICAN PANCAKES

simple pancakes

Ingredients

  • 225 grams all-purpose flour

  • 300 millilitres milk

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 large eggs (beaten)

  • 30 grams butter (melted and cooled)

  • Extra butter for frying

Method

The quickest and easiest method: put all these ingredients into a blender and blitz.

Or alternatively by hand in a bowl method.

  1. Mix the dry ingredients together (flour, baking powder, salt and sugar). Then make a well in the middle and beat in the eggs, melted butter and milk, and transfer to a jug. Or use a ladle to slowly pour into frying pan.

  2. Heat your pan and make sure to keep the pan hot and buttered as you cook the pancakes.

  3. As the pancakes cook, look for when the upper side of the pancake is blistering and bubbling. Then it’s time flip over and cook the second side, and this needs only about 1 minute, if that. Enjoy! Bon appétit!

SUGGESTION: Serve them with your favourite toppings. I love mine with maple syrup and berries.

TIP: If you have extra pancakes, freeze them for up to 3 months in a freezer bag/box. To reheat them, just toast them!
